Jon & Judith

We are not the only Americans here in Sargur. There is also Jon and Judith, a couple from California in their 60’s (Im just guessing here). Jon is a retired doctor doing diabetes research and his wife Judith is working at SVYM’s school inside our little compound.

THEY ARE ADORABLE. Jon has the best sense of humor in the way I find things funny. Example: Well my mind just blanked and I wouldn’t do his dry witty remarks justice reproducing them here out of the context in which they were said. Just take my word for it.

Judith has clearly gotten to the point in their relationship where she just rolls her eyes, but for us its nice to have people to talk to we can easily understand. Plus we raid their library which has been nice. (Ive given up on Walden for the time being and have moved on to actual novels. Its been a while since Ive read a book for myself but its nice sitting outside being consumed in it once in a while)

They’ve had an interesting life and hopefully enjoy having 5 Americans around for the time being to hassle them for coffee. They’ve lived here for 8 months already and their experience has just made me hope I have half the sense of adventure as they do when I get to be their age. Just not the biking for hours a day…somehow I never quite picked that skill up as a kid.

Well the parentals and Men of the Dikus Have arrived and the chaos has begun.
Daniel has produced more ugs than a monkey in the jungle and Ian has shoulder pain from all the repetitions of shrug lifting. mom is ready for a nap. The men of the dinkus are looking over my shoulder wondering what other foolishness is going to come out next and mom, as you might say rolling her eyes.
On another note ,it was sad when the boys went out to the tent and alone ,without you and lianna there. Watched fireflies briefly and then Ian took nighttime pictures of the sky, which did not come out. I woke them early, Daniel uged and Ian shrugged, then off in the rain to the store,k back for waffles, discussion and here we are. Your pops is upstairs looking at pictures of the house that Louisa is building in Maine. Would love to get ya'll to Maine for another adventure. Well , the boys look like they slept 15minutes last night, though in reality they were in the tent for 9 hours. Ians eyes are closed. Maybe he's on meds.
What a great adventure you are on and I wish we were all there or at least lianna. Maybe we could visit Cornell one time before you graduate.
Be safe, travel far and wide, and keep some spare TP handy
