So I am no longer living the good life in Mysore. I have relocated to a hospital in a village called Sargur. Its about an hour and a half away and definitely more remote than I expected. Its all good here though, the people in the canteen are really nice. Theres just a lack of things to do. Since Saturday we've just been hanging out with nothing to do since our supervisor doesnt get here until tomorrow. Also, the remote internet access has left me to my own devices reading Bossypants in one sitting and thumbing through Walden. But really Im just attempting Walden because Ive exhausted reading through the only magazines we brought (you can only read Cosmo, Glamour and Vogue so many times) Intellectual advancement here I come! I may just come back hyper-intellectual and well versed in Indian philosophy.....maybe.
In other news, me and Ruby (my roommate for the next 4 weeks) have found a third companion. His name is Raoul (or Ra-cool, which I personally prefer). He is a small orange gecko and crawls around our walls. Plus, yesterday we all got invited to an Indian wedding, giving me another excuse to put on my sari. Its getting way more use than I expected. So thats all for now, Im back to Walden and contemplating life in the woods...but not really.
Hi my Bollywood Girl. Don't forget to practice yur YOGA with your roommates. You could probably teach Ra-Cool a thing or two. Keep your bags zipped up, or Ra-Cool might just decide to come home with you. Is it monsoon season yet?
ReplyDeleteSchool is over for the boys, just regents left. Daniel wrote thank you notes to all his teachers that gave him recomendation letters to college. Saturday is his prom...
What's the scenery and weather where you are? Any PICS to post?
